It combines electric drive motors with a diesel generator and a battery bank to create a flexible, efficient power architecture that can operate in multiple modes depending on conditions and preference.

Three Ways to Configure the System
Fischer Panda’s EasyBox electric drive systems are available in three primary configurations:
Fully battery-powered operation runs the vessel entirely on the battery bank, drawing zero fuel and producing zero emissions at the point of use. This is the quietest mode, virtually silent, and is ideal for harbor maneuvering, anchoring in sensitive areas, or short passages where range is not a constraint.
Parallel hybrid drive connects an electric motor in parallel with the existing diesel engine’s drive shaft. A classic example is a 100 HP diesel paired with a 10 or 20 kW parallel hybrid electric motor. The diesel handles cruising under power while the electric motor supplements at lower speeds, during engine start, or when conditions favor reduced fuel consumption. The battery bank recharges when the diesel is running or through the RE-GEN function.
Generator-supported operation integrates a Fischer Panda DC generator into the system to charge the battery bank during passage. For greater independence or as a backup power source, the diesel generator can charge the battery bank directly while also providing power when anchored without a shore power connection.
The AGT-VS 45: High-Output DC Charging for Larger Vessels
For larger yachts and cruising vessels with higher power demands, the Fischer Panda AGT-VS 45 is a purpose-built hybrid variable speed DC generator designed for electric drive systems. It delivers 45 kW of nominal DC output at 300 to 500V, is powered by a Hatz four-cylinder diesel engine, and operates at 54 dBA at 23 feet.
