The seven traditional Panda generators-- The Panda 4200, Panda 4200 Plus, Panda 8 Mini DP, Panda 12 Mini DP, Panda 16 DP and Panda 22 DP-- are currently available as production models with modifications available. As the only true 100% water-cooled asynchronous generators on the market, Pandas stand apart from the competition. No other cooling system is more efficient. Due to the unique design of the asynchronous rotor that has no windings, no brushes or diodes, the Panda generator can cool the stator winding with nearly 100% efficiency. A conventional synchronous generator, on the other hand, can never achieve this efficiency because the rotor windings are cooled with air. That same air is very hot and transfers considerable noise. The air also brings humidity and dirt into the windings, which increases the resistance and thereby reduces electrical output. The water cooled Pandas provide distinct advantages over air-cooled generators, in size, weight, noise and efficiency. Extremely popular with sail and powerboats, the standard generators are also sold to non-marine industry applications, including satellite broadcasting, emergency vehicles and mobile medical trucks as well as the military. For applications larger than 25 kW, Fischer Panda's custom shop manufactures generators up to 200 kW. Ranges of diesel DC power systems with AC inverters are also available.
